The Eye/Mind of the Beholder from Ursula in St. Gallen, Switzerland
Dear friends everywhere in the world,
Just a quick eye/mind opener I had today that I really had to giggle about: I work as a music teacher in a high school and my room is up in the roof, so that out of the skylight I can mainly see the sky and clouds and raindrops. But from the bathroom that is one floor lower I can look down to the gorgeous park that is in front of our school.
Today was very hot, sunny weather and a few students were scattered, sitting around the shady trees, some talking to each other, others sitting alone. While I dried my hands I spotted a young couple that was sitting with their legs spread out very close together in a position where their faces were very close to each other, their arms hanging loosely around their elbows. It was very moving, intimate and beautiful to see them there, looking so at peace with each other. A moment later the thought was racing through my mind, “I should sit with somebody like that,” and then came all the reasons why I didn’t have such an intimate relationship with somebody…
While I was in the midst of all this I still was looking at the couple. Suddenly my eyes readjusted to the faraway situation differently and I just had to laugh out loud: there was actually just one person sitting there very relaxed holding a book and looking down on it. And the coat she sat on had just looked like a second person. I couldn’t stop chuckling about how my eyes/mind hand made all of this up given the opportunity and I had nearly fallen into a drama sequence over it. The young woman I was looking at was sitting there very much at peace and I just loved looking at her.
It’s so wonderful to have Instantaneous Transformation. It’s all around me, the beautiful life, nature, great human beings to look at, chat with! Let’s share it! I feel blessed being a part of this all and the community! Thank you Ariel and Shya and all my friends out there!
