I had an interesting experience today that I thought you might appreciate. Completely by accident I have started cleaning houses for people to make a little extra money. I am enjoying it because it is flexible, and I make much more money than I ever have before! I started with one person and the word spread and now I have 5 clients.

Hi everybody!
Dear friends everywhere in the world,
Just a quick eye/mind opener I had today that I really had to giggle about: I work as a music teacher in a high school and my room is up in the roof, so that out of the skylight I can mainly see the sky and clouds and raindrops. But from the bathroom that is one floor lower I can look down to the gorgeous park that is in front of our school.
Today was very hot, sunny weather and a few students were scattered, sitting around the shady trees, some talking to each other, others sitting alone. While I dried my hands I spotted a young couple that was sitting with their legs spread out very close together in a position where their faces were very close to each other, their arms hanging loosely around their elbows. It was very moving, intimate and beautiful to see them there, looking so at peace with each other. A moment later the thought was racing through my mind, “I should sit with somebody like that,” and then came all the reasons why I didn’t have such an intimate relationship with somebody… (more…)

10 days ago, I thought it would be a nice idea to send my mother some flowers at Mother’s Day, May 9th. So I went in the Internet to my online flower shop and checked Mother’s Days flower bouquets. They were beautiful, but nothing really touched my heart. So I checked the other offers, and suddenly a stunning bouquet of a dozen large red roses popped up. A beautiful heart shaped tin box with filled chocolate was attached. It looked just gorgeous! Then my little voice in my head started: “No, this is something for lovers, not for moms.” And then I saw, they are only available tll April 30th. Ok, enough resonable reasons to forget about it. I looked for something else, and one minute later I jumped back to the roses. They looked so incredible precious and beautiful. (more…)

I just came back from a funeral that I attended with my husband Stephan (thanks for being there for me!). This was the funeral of a former client of mine whose name is Christine and I want to tell you about her:
Christine was sitting in a wheelchair since she was 5 years old, because of amyotaxia (a kind of spasticity, that goes in “waves” through the body so that you can’t really control your movements) and could only walk with the help of other people. If she wanted to move by herself, she used to crawl on her bottom. I had been Christine’s physical therapist for several years, before she moved out of her home in Hamburg 5 years ago into her own apartment in the city (she got a job at the zoological institute), where we found a new therapist for her. Hi People!
This has been such a spiritual day. I’ve been saying YES to everything, including many incomplete tasks in my apartment, and in my personal life and in my professional life.
This morning my father and his girlfriend Karen visited me to drop off a piece of furniture he wanted to give me. What a blessing my father is! Always giving! Always caring about me. He doesn’t owe me anything, yet he has all this patience and support for me.
We all had breakfast together in Astoria, and I felt closer with both of them than ever before. In the past I’d had realizations about the way I would treat him like I was a kid, not being supportive to him, draining his energy, etc. In the last two years, my relationship with my father has transformed big time, but today was actually a higher level of maturity and cooperation.

I have a short story I would like to share about awareness.
I have two small hand made quilts my step grandmother made and presented to my daughters when they were born. One of my daughters will be 15 years old next week and so will her quilt.
I keep these small quilts draped across the back of our futon in our living room. We use them almost everyday. Well, this Sunday morning I was folding one of them and felt a tiny point pricking my finger. Aha! I thought, this must be a straight pin accidentally sewn into the quilt. I got some scissors, snipped a tiny whole, fished the needle out by its pearl top, draped the quilt in its proper place and dropped the straight pin into the trash bin. Just mater of fact like that. No judgment, no story, no drama.

I spent some lovely days of vacation in South Germany at the foothills of the Alps with my father, a 68-year-old wonderful, humorous, caring man. We did some tours, had health treatments, lovely food, I went horseback riding twice and we had lot of fun. I bought a nice pair of hiking shoes that made walking much more fun and easy. I liked them so much that one day I put them on just to walk across to the butcher’s 
I have been sharing transformation with my father since my first workshop with Ariel & Shya in spring 2007. He loves what has happened for me since then and supports me very much. I always invite him to join in. In these days I spent with him, I saw a lot of my behaviors, fears and worries in him. We shared about it and he told me about the worries of the generation of his parents in general but also concerning him who fell often ill as a child. I felt so much love and compassion for him, for all of them, and could also look at myself with love, not with judgments.
