Staying in the Moment Game

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Evelyne Romang

Lately, I found it challenging to stay in the moment. There is a lot of chatter going on in my mind and my breath is shallow.  On one of this “lost in thoughts days”, it was while walking to my work place, I came up with a game (out of the blue) that I started to play immediately!

This game helps me to come back to real time in such a playful, simple and amazing way, that I want to share it today. Maybe someone wants to check it out for themselves (-;
So here is how it works:

You really can’t do it alone

Greetings to the Transformational Family,

John Campbell

I am writing about a Transformation I have had in the last week. So much of what Ariel and Shya say is brilliant and profound. You hear it and it makes such sense. Then it drops back into your mind, only to be reawakened with a giant WOW – now it really makes sense – bang – Transformation.

I had such a revelation. I had a private session with Ariel and Shya last week. I had intended to talk about my work as it is in the forefront of my mind and I am looking forward to attending the workshop this weekend, Transformational Time and Project Management with Ariel and Shya in New York.

As usual, Ariel and Shya demonstrated their great perception and ability to listen and very soon our conversation took a turn away from work and to my relationship with my wife. My relationship with my wife Nancy has been wonderful and Transformational, but as it turned out we had a disagreement the night before my conversation with Ariel and Shya. I had minimized its overall significance and essentially dismissed my wife’s feelings as being a mechanical reaction to me. (more…)

This Year Mother’s Day is One Week Earlier

Monday, May 10th, 2010

FotoDear Friends,

10 days  ago, I thought it would be a nice idea to send my mother some flowers at Mother’s Day, May 9th.  So I went in the Internet to my online flower shop and checked Mother’s Days flower bouquets. They were beautiful, but nothing really touched my heart. So I checked the other offers, and suddenly a stunning bouquet of a dozen large red roses popped up. A beautiful heart shaped tin box with filled chocolate was attached.  It looked just gorgeous! Then my little voice in my head started: “No, this is something for lovers, not for moms.” And then I saw, they are only available tll April 30th. Ok, enough resonable reasons to forget about it. I looked for something else, and one minute later I jumped back to the roses.  They looked so incredible precious and beautiful. (more…)

WOW! What a workshop! What a life!

sandy-smDearest friends,

This last workshop was an incredible gift! So many things have been happening for me since.

Yesterday (it feels like so many days) I saw how I had a choice to go into a drama or not. My daughter Ayla told me she had gotten a Latin exam back and she had a 5 (very bad grade). A little later I noticed I was feeling very dramatic, with all the body sensations that go with it, but I actually saw that I could just carry on, finish work, go to my acting class, and deal with Ayla when I got home. So that’s what I did, leaving out the drama and I felt great, even with Ayla’s bad grade. Then at acting class the theme was sensuality and I got to act this out with a partner that would have been the last on my list of preferences and again I dropped the idea of not having the best partner in an instance and instead took care of him. My idea of him was that he is stiff and insecure, but how he showed up was brilliant! We had a wonderful time creating a dance on our office chairs, rolling around the room elegantly and this boy was actually a lovely man.

“Captain Of My Soul”

andyHello all you awesome people!

Back in October I auditioned for a group called The Story Pirates.  They hired me and I’ve been acting in many of their school shows and have started to teach with them all over New York.  But about one month ago, an amazing thing happened.

Every Saturday, at the Drama Book Shop in New York City, the Story Pirates do a show in the black box theater downstairs.  I was rehearsing for one of the school shows and one a break, mentioned to the Artistic Director, Lee, that my parents were coming to town and I was going to bring them to the main stage show.  Lee asked, “Do you want to be in the show?”  I was kind of in shock.  They told all us newbies at training that it might be a long while before we where asked to do a Main Stage Show.  But Lee said, “I think it’d be really cool for your parents to see what you do.”  So I, very excitedly, said yes!

It’s A Wonderful Life

Monday, April 19th, 2010

My Dear Friends,

susanfinchI’ve had an amazing day.  Everyone is fine, but there was a major fire in my apt. building this morning.  Thankfully no one was injured.  I was downtown at a BNI  (networking) group meeting and at 10am I got an hysterical call from my neighbor saying that our building was on fire.  She was calling from the fire escape.  I asked if she’d been able to check on my dogs and cats since she has keys to my place, but she couldn’t get to them to find out.  So I had this spit second thought, “Is this where I get hysterical and faint?” or do I notice the truth…that I feel centered and focused?  I went with the latter, got in a cab and was home in no time.  That is NOT not the way I used to react in stressful situations.  I’ve been known to be quite the drama queen about smaller events in the past.  But I was alert, effective and did what needed to be done.   And, I didn’t say to myself “Alright…BE CALM”… I  just was.  That is miraculous.  That ole’ Transformation just snuck right up on me.  What a gift!

Rush Hour Traffic Patroller

Monday, April 12th, 2010

shea-aliYesterday afternoon, my lovely girlfriend Ali was sitting outside on her porch and much to her delight and surprise she witnessed the following. (In her words): I live on the corner of a busy  intersection in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I was locking my bike up and suddenly, behind me I heard a loud symphony of car horns. I turned around to see that all four stoplights were frozen on red, and rush hour traffic was quickly backing up. On the corner stood a young boy watching the madness. He calmly walked out into the middle of the street, Razor Scooter in tow, and began to direct the traffic. Confidently he allowed one car at a time to pass, all the while grinning from ear to ear. I sat down to watch this young boy, not older then 8, transform this chaotic situation into a manageable one. This continued for over a half an hour until a worker came to fix the stop lights. The young boy graciously thanked the worker for showing up, and then hopped back on his scooter and rode away. I felt fortunate to witness such an amazing sight! He saw that he could help, and he did; no hesitation! It was truly inspiring!

The Importance of Listening

27030_427348451144_685146144_5517517_6385582_nI just wanted to get in touch to say how amazing the past few months have been for me and send you a big big “THANKS” for being such an inspiration. I’ve been offered this brilliant new job which I’m starting in 2 weeks time and also I moved into a lovely new flat with my lovely flatmates.

It’s really amazing the things that happened for me after I came back from Costa Rica without working hard. Especially the job I got, it is perfect on every level. I’ve been job hunting for 8 months and I came back from Costa Rica, switched back on my mobile in New York in the airport and all of the sudden I receive a text from my recruitment agency saying I should get in touch because they have a job I might like. I went to the interview and 3 hours later I had a call that I got the job. I will never forget this day. My new job is Account Management, Sales Support and Training and I’ll have to go into hotels and provide training on a software that allows hotels to issue and sell gift vouchers. My new job allows me to travel 3 days of the week and I can work 2 days from home. (more…)
