Hello Friends!
Monday, February 8th, 2010Lately, my days are full of events. It feels like a day has more parts than it once had. Every time I see a clock, I’m amazed how early it is, and how many things I can do with my time.
Also, everything looks beautiful, and full of DETAIL and light and color! The tropical-ness of Costa Rica seems to have followed me to New York, and everything is looking exotic, and full of life.
Things have been easy, and I’m finding I am willing to do the things that need to be done, without even wondering if I want to do them.
I feel so loose and creative, and the things that are happening around me are ORIGINAL.

The opening of the show and some more
Friday, October 9th, 2009Last Thursday my partner Daniela and I had the opening for our show – presenting our furniture line “Color in Form” for the first time. It was an awesome, beautiful and successful evening.
Here are some highlights from the evening: The mayor of the town spoke at the introduction, the vice president from the board of trade did the Laudatio and our friend, actress Katharina Abt, did a reading about “Art in the Living room”, which is fun piece itself, but turned into a jewel when Katharina performed it. All three where so heartfelt and brilliant , it added extra spice to the event and we felt very honored.
Also we had the most yummy and beautiful food catered by our friend Stephan Monzel; people just loved the food and felt happy and taken care of
. And a saxophonist played some beautiful background lounge music (thanks Katja for the contact:-)).
We expected about 80 guests and thought that would be wonderful, since it was summer, the baltic sea is around the corner and the weather was just perfect for the beach. It was perfect for us too – we had a 150 guests:-)) 2 People ordered right away and we have a list of people who are interested in receiving more information and some individual solutions. A friend with a home-acessories store with a small selection of furniture is interested in selling our furniture and THE local daily newspaper for Hamburg is running a special on furniture for teens soon and part of the article is about our furniture, including a picture and of course all of our contact info

Dear Transformers from all over the world,
Not only did the Costa Rica workshop with Ariel and Shya rock and inspired me to keep going for my life with excellence but also just after a few days of coming back, still glowing, I am now celebrating that as of today I am an American citizen.
And you know what? I could have not done it alone.
A Toast to Demitra
Sunday, March 29th, 2009
I had just opened my computer to read some emails I had downloaded. One subject line said: “A Toast to Demitra.” I was so excited – this was a woman who I knew in London, a set designer, who was super vivacious, effervescent – so excited about life! I immediately thought she was coming to New York, maybe she was getting married or opening a show. Last October, she took me to a beautiful lounge in London to celebrate my upcoming wedding – we drank wine, talked about friends from school, about the Kane’s workshops on living in the moment – she had planned to come to Hamburg for the next workshop…In astonishment, I read that she had passed away. As tears splashed down on my keyboard, I wished it wasn’t true, I wished I had stayed in better touch, I wished I had been a better friend, that I had invited her one more time, wished I could tell her that her smile brightened my life every single solitary time I saw her, wished I had told my husband Rod I loved him before he left today…
A note about possibility
Friday, March 20th, 2009The Kanes often often often talk about ‘letting the universe support you,’ instead of driving ahead toward reaching something that is yet unattained, but known -
as opposed to letting the universe support you into something great that you may not yet know about!!!
So I am walking down the street and run into a pack of literally 40 or so Labrador Retriever puppies, all wearing vests that say Guide Dog Puppy-in-Training. Now – I have just written a book that involves laboradors, Guide Dogs, and Search and Rescue Dogs – I am very aware of how astonishingly important these dogs are as service dogs both to the blind and to police and fire departments. They are here today looking for volunteers to raise puppies.
